When my 770ED battery went (same kind I believe, lasted approx 16 months) I
was told by IBM support that there was no way to revive the old one (makes a
reasonable paperweight though). Though my battery didn't even show 1 bar so
maybe it was shot. I was told some interesting things by the engineer that I
never got verified. He said that leaving the battery in while running on
mains power for long periods degraded the battery life, you should pop the
fully charged battery out if this is the case. Does this sound reasonable?
It is not particularly convenient for my new A20 since the battery is
removed from the bottom of the unit not the side but at over ?100 (~$150)
for a battery I'd like to get the most use of it.
I scoured the UK to find a reasonably priced replacement at the time but was
unsuccessful.
