Have you tried using opensource rdesktop (www.rdesktop.org) instead
of Citrix. Recent version (1.0.0 with 19.6.6 patch) seems to be a way
more stable than Citrix. Of course, it consumes more bandwidth (becouse
it is RDP, not ICA) and is unable to do more than 256 colors, but at least
it gives you a possibility to fix things if you don't like them
