I had the same problem with a T20 and Mandrake 8.0. I solved it using an 
usb mouse and installing then another kernel. You can find other install

I am attempting to install Mandrake 8.0 on a T22 (7EU) and was wondering 
if
anyone else has had any luck...

Running into the simplest of problems right now - allowing the graphical
install, I have NO trackpoint OR external mouse support.  Not a big deal,
except the tab key stops working about 3 questions in.

So, I am thinking of doing a text based install run, but thought I would
shoot the list a question quick...

Sorry if this has been covered, but I didn't find anything in the archive
search...
