If you do keep the service partition in this manner, be careful about using
it, because if you do it could hose your hard drive, I've heard.

If you really think you may want to reinstall windows, you should call up
IBM and tell them you messed up the service partition and they'll install a
CD. A friend of mine did this. I figure if the windows partition dies,
I'll finally get around to deleting it.
