I can confirm this worked fine on my laptop, a 600E-2645-4BU. I believe
I have also installed RedHat 7.2 on a 600E-2645-4AU. No problems.
It will automatically figure out the type of video adapter (NeoMagic).
Like he says the type of monitor to select is something like "generic
1024x768 LCD laptop". I remember it was a little odd, maybe near the
top of the list rather than in alphabetic order? Maybe had to expand a
level of hierarchy to get to it? Anyway, not too hard to find.
It will automatically support the Xircom PCMCIA ethernet card, just tell
it whether you want to use DHCP or whether instead you have a permanent
IP address. If you aren't familiar with the networking questions it asks,
there is the help on the left side, and you may also find it useful to
look on the documentation CD, under the HOWTO section, e.g. the NET howto.
I've not had the energy to want to tangle with getting sound to work on it.
No sndconfig support, oh well.
