[ltp] Boot failed on i series 1200 (1161-41U)

Hi everybody,
I'm a student and I figured that it would be a good idea having
a thinkpad with linux on it to work on.

So, I bought TP i series 1200 41U and tried to install
Red Hat linux 7 on it. I tried to boot but it says "boot failed".

I searched in the archive of the list for this information. It seems
that some of the list members had this problem, but I didn't find
a way to handle it.

AFAIK there is no way to change the cd-rom speed in the bios.
