[ltp] T21 modem woes

Hi Stefan and Paul,

Thank you both for your replies.

Our Thinkpads have the same combo card, so, as Paul suggested, I suppose 
(hope! :-) that this is related to the kernel version I am using: I am 
running an "old" 2.2.19 with pppd 2.3.11 (?).

I will let you know how it went when I upgrade the kernel.
