This seems to be the BIOS power management.
Try using "tpctl --pm-mode-AC=manual" to use manual power management settings
when using AC power and "tpctl --pm-delay-suspend-or-hibernate-AC-manual=0"
to disable the standby/suspend timer for this power management setting, since
the standby mode will switch off the display.
I don't know if it works, since I did it with the ThinkPad Configuation
Utility for Win95.
