[ltp] getting beyond the 8-Gbyte limit

I just installed RH7.0 on my 770z and had the same problem. Eventhough the
latest version of lilo (which I use) supposedly doesn't have this limitation,
the
barrier still exists on bootup, perhaps in BIOS. The best solution is to make
a
small (~50Mb, or much less if you know you are never going to add new kernels)
linux partition residing entirely below cylinder 1024 (8Gb) and make that your
"/boot" partition where your kernel is installed. Then it won't matter where
the rest of the Linux partitions are located. Maybe you could squeeze this
partition in
somewhere.
I found the "large hard-drive" how-to very useful on this topic.
Good luck,
Jay
