[ltp] An IR thought

Hello again,

Having tried all the setpnp/tpctl/setserial tricks I can think of and
still not getting anywhere, I'm beginning to wonder if I have managed to
(mis)configure my IR chip from pnp mode to legacy mode or some such.

Is this likely?  (I started the Thinkpad configuration utility when I
booted Windows)

Is there a way to check this?

Is there a way to reliably set the chip to the mode I need for it to
work under Linux? (pnp?)
