Thats odd.  I bought my VMWare 1.0 at a special show price and they still
offered me a cut rate upgrade when 2.0 shipped, but it was a very "limited
time offer" sort of deal.  Sometimes it's good to sign up for a company's
spam I suppose.

If you get the very latest bleeding edge version the modules build on the
kernel RedHat ships in 7.1.
