Hi,
I have been trying to get vmware to run on my i1300 (9WU) and I
think I have run into hardware/software problem. I have a stock
RedHat 7.1 with a 2.4.3 kernel compiled to bring in the options
stipulated by vmware. I am running X 4.0.3. I have successfully
created and configured the virtual machine in vmware 2.0.4.
However, when I start the vm to install the guest OS (it doesn't
matter which), a window flashes up and then it and the vmware
configurator crash and disappear. I suspect it is a problem
with the detected SVGA settings based on the following log file:
...
May 22 09:20:43: Changing SVGA width from 2364 to 1024
May 22 09:20:43: Changing SVGA height from 1773 to 1
May 22 09:20:43: SVGAXInitSHMImage: svga->reg[SVGA_REG_FB_MAX_SIZE] set to 0
May 22 09:20:43: Caught signal 11 -- pid 8398
May 22 09:20:43: Suspending VM...
May 22 09:20:43: Dumping core...
Does anyone have suggestions as to how to get it to use 1024x768
instead of 1024x1? Am I barking up the wrong tree?
Help!
Thanks, Steve
