You should also give some numbers. What version of XFree86? What version of
VMware? I had problems with an older version of VMware (2.0.x) and XFree86
4.0.3 on my Voodoo3. Switching to fullscreen mode froze the X server. With
XFree86 4.1.0 and VMware 2.0.4 build 1142 I can use fullscree mode. I didn't
try it on my ThinkPad because it's only a P166, so I prefer running VMware
remotely which doesn't allow fullscreen mode.
