>From what I've experienced on a 770, a 770Z, and an A30p, the system
recalibrates the Trackpoint whenever the Trackpoint position is stable
for 4-5 seconds (approximately; may have been longer on the 770's).
That is, if I leave my finger on the Trackpoint (usually out of
forgetfulness), applying a constant pressure, the pointer moves for
about five seconds and then stops. Then when I take my finger off, it
moves in the opposite direction for about five seconds and then stops.
Any use of the stick during this period will restart the five second
waiting period.
