After upgrading X11 on my Thinkpad 760ED(XGA) from XFree 3.3.6
to XFree 4.1.0 I've experienced very strange effect:

When notebook goes into screen saving mode (it is more like standby rather
than suspend, becouse network card is in and notebook answers to
ssh logins) content of video memory gets corrupted after a while.

When I press a key immediately after screen is turned off, I see a
proper picture. If I leave it in this state for few minutes, I see
white on black horizontal stripes four pixels wide and big black square
instead of mouse cursor.

Problem is rather harmless becouse calling xrefresh or fvwm's Refresh
builtin restores screen. Switching to text console and back to X also
helps.

It seems that I've never experienced this problem before, becouse XFree
3.3.6 were just unable to properly switch display of - it gone blank,
but backlight was still on.

Is there some suggestions to overcome this problem?
