Sorry...not sure how to post to the thread!!

     I just brought up RedHat 7.3 last night.  Did the
laptop default & took a long time with all the packages
including the development ones.  Should do some pruning of
that.

     A first impression is that programs load slowly.  Don't
know if that is because of ext3 or what.  This is from the
default GNOME desktop & clicking on the program icons
icons.  But this was all at midnight, so could have been
sleepy ;-).   I'm interested in finding out what others may
have done to tune the system for RedHat 7.3 and the (plain
old vanilla) ThinkPad 770.
