Thanks for your reply. Do you have any documentation on setting up sound on
the 600E running SUSE 8.0? I'd appreciate anything you might have as I am
quite new to Linux. Thanks again.

Also, you need to use the cs4232 driver for the 600(no E or E).

e.g. in modules.conf, you' have something like

alias sound-slot-0 cs4232
options cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 mpuirq=9 dma2=0 mpuio=0x300 dma=1
