[ltp] Mwave Modem Monitor

Dear fellow Linux-Thinkpadders,

Having finally upgraded my TP600E to a less prehistoric version of
Linux (Red Hat 7.2), I've installed IBM's fine Mwave modem driver,
which works nicely: I can PPP through it, which fulfils a lifetime
ambition :-)

Only one problem: I don't seem to be able to get its modem noises
monitored through the TP speakers (although that works fine from
Win95). If I talk to minicom, I can say ATM1 to it, to which it
replies (of course) "OK", but I still don't hear anything when I
ATDT.

Anyone have the same problem?

Anyone _solved_ the same problem?

Thanks in advance,
