I would be surprised if that isn't the proper file, Frank, but I personal=
ly=20
never used an RPM to install this thing (as I guess it was only pretty=20
recently available as one). I would check and make sure that after you do=
the=20
install that your modules.conf is properly updated, reboot, and then thec=
k to=20
make sure the ltmodem modules get loaded (you may have to try to access t=
he=20
modem for this to happen).
Actually I'm going to take a crack at it right now since I'm sitting at m=
y=20
A20p...
Okey Dokey, I simply found the rpm
ltmodem-kv_2.4.19_16mdk-8.22a5-1.i586.rpm (which is for MDK 9.0, the one =
you=20
have should be right for 8.2 as far as I could discover).
sudo rpm --install ltmodem-kv_2.4.19_16mdk-8.22a5-1.i586.rpm
worked fine (I got a few error messages about bad file ownership, but tha=
t=20
appears to be ok). At this point kppp was able to set up the modem and ta=
lk=20
to it. I don't have anything to dial into, but the modem was properly IDe=
d=20
and its always worked in the past, so I'm 99% sure its properly functioni=
ng.=20
So, in short, it definitely works in MDK 9.0, and I know a manual install=
used=20
to work in 8.0 and 8.1. I think you SHOULD be golden, but the only other=20
advice I can give if it doesn't work is to try using MDK 9.0 (Its a good =
bit=20
better anyway ;o).
