Hi,

I am planning to upgrade my original 12 GB HD on a 240X (2609-51A). I am =
looking for 20 to 30 GB, standard 2.5", 9.5mm height.
=20
I could see some Toshiba drives with 1024KB buffer instead of regular =
512KB buffer in the IBM drives, but would it really help? I could also =
see IBM drives with glass platters but I think I did read some (bad) =
articles regarding reliability of this technology. I am searching =
advices regarding good or bad experience, trying to know if some =
manufacturer / models are "better" or must be avoided in a Thinkpad.=20

At last, does someone know if there is a BIOS limit to the HD this =
machine will accept (I have latest bios, 1.03.22)?

For the Linux part, I installed Redhat 7.2 with 2.4.9-13 kernel and I am =
just happy for the moment, incliding sound and Winmodem working :-) I =
just miss space...

Thanks,

Jean-Philippe.
