No, but a similar problem here: A TP T21 with 1400x1050 monitor and
SuSE Linux 7.3. The console gets corrupted after the machine has been
in sleep mode for a couple of times or for a longer period. I've also
upgraded to XFree 4.2.0 but that didn't change anything.
Which console screen resolution are you using? And does your distro
use any graphical gimmicks in console mode? (SuSE does.)
