Not really. Note that you have to reboot when changing network
surrounding. With linux you do not like rebooting so often. For me it
often happens that I carry my notebook around the building and have to
adapt to different net confs, or even take it home, where my network
connection is modem. Rebootin all the time with closing and reopenning
all you "big" work might get annoying.
(Unfortunately, depsite DHCP everywhere I use hand-invoked scripts to
adapt.)
