Hi all,
While browsing the not so unknown net in search for Tv-out support for
my R30, I found this:
http://www.tridentmicro.com/careers/engineering.html
Woooha, Trident needs a developer to develop drivers for Win* .. and
Linux. Further down the page there is something mentioned about Open GL
driver development needs. Anyone on the list interested, and if so, please
make a linux open gl driver for the blade chips :)
About the trident chipset in the Thinkpad R30, there is no linux support.
Trident claim that it is impossible for them to support notebook computers
since the way the chip is integrated into notebooks may diff between
brands (and models). It seems like the Toshiba Satellite 1800 has got a
Cyberblade Ai1 as well, I read it on a personal webpage (lost the link,
sorry) that the owner had successfully used his tv-out on his toshiba in
Linux. I bet there is still hope then.
Oh, by the way, dualhead _works_ in R30 if you add an extra CRT.
Just modify your XF86Config-4 according to the XFree Trident man page,
even streching works in lower resolutions.
Trident manpage for XFree 4.1.0:
