Andrew,
It looks like you're almost there. Are you trying to manually run the
start script? What happens when you run '/etc/rc.d/init.d/mwaved
start'? Have you installed "minicom" on your notebook? If not, you may
want to. I've found it useful in determining that the modem is
working. Are you using mwavem-1.0.3? Can you have a look at
/var/log/messages to see what other bits are being logged, and if
possible, would you post the relevent bits to the list?
