I was holding out hope that there were PCI parts with IBM ID's in 
every one of the laptops reported bad on
http://www.linux-thinkpad.org
which I of course don't know to be the absolute complete list.

Your lspci output is a counterexample. 
So are everyone elses'. So much for hope.
Guess I don't need any more listings.
We'll get to work on DMI.
