[ltp] lirc

Has anyone succeeded in getting lirc working on a
Thinkpad T-series laptop?

I tried both the lirc_serial and the lirc_sir module.
Both loads into the kernel ok, but when running "mode2"
I get no reaction from the ir-port when I use a remote
control.

Info:
   Thinkpad mode: T21
   Kernel:        2.4.18
