Updated debs
thinkpad-base
thinkpad-source (from which you make thinkpad-modules)
tpctl
are available via
http://panopticon.csustan.edu/thood/tp600lnx.htm
They look pretty shipshape now.
Please note that you should dpkg --purge any earlier
tpctl* packages. Furthermore, before installing the
tpctl* and thinkpad* packages that eventually make it
into the Debian archive, you should dpkg --purge these
experimental packages. This is to make sure that there
are no superfluous conffiles lying around.
The procedure again (with emphasis on point #6):
0. Purge tpctl, tpctl-modules-source and any old
tpctl-modules-* packages
1. Install the "kernel-package" package
2. Download and install thinkpad-base, thinkpad-source and tpctl
3. cd /usr/src ; rm -rf modules/thinkpad ; tar zxvf thinkpad.tar.gz
4. cd <your-linux-kernel-tree> ; sudo make-kpkg modules_image
5. cd /usr/src; sudo dpkg --install thinkpad-modules-x.y.z_etc.deb
6. Test tpctl
7. E-mail Thomas to tell him that everything went perfectly, or ....
Cheers
Thomas
