[ltp] IBM "USB Serial Parallel Adapter"

hi,

R31 has no serial connector, which is a problem for me.
(i do quite a lot of work with serial consoles)

the most viable solution [1] i figure is to get one of these "USB to serial"
adapters.
unfortunately http://www.linux-usb.org/devices.html is quite terse...
does any one know if IBM's "USB Serial Parallel Adapter" [0] works with linux
too?
recommendations for other "USB to serial" adapters?
