I'm glad you found it usefull.  Please be advised that the detailed instructions for
compiling the driver do NOT apply to the TP600E.  You have the MWave modem and the
driver you  need can be obtained from the following site:

http://www-124.ibm.com/acpmodem/
    IBM's Mwave modem (a.k.a. ACP modem) Driver for Linux. The FAQ
    page states explicitly that the Mwave driver is for the 600,
    600E, and 770, and NOT the 600X which has the LTModem.

The glossary and links section of  the "ModemMadness" posting may still be of use to
you, though.
