Hi,
just yesterday I witnessed the same trouble with the thinkpad module,
after upgrading from a very stable 2.4.17 kernel to a 2.4.19 with some
performance patches (very stable, too, actually).
Since I use the 2.4.19 kernel I could load all the thinkpad_3.0 modules
just as well as Rob, but the tpctl utility would not work for me any
longer. I could circumvent this problem by using the old tpctl-2.5
modules (and adjusting my modules.conf settings with the thinkpad_
prefix).
My TP is a 600E 2645 4A0. My distro is also Debian Unstable.
Actually I just noticed there is a tpctl 3.7 version... Maybe I should
try that one first??? :]
