Is the bug fixed?

I think I'll bump the release number to 4.0.
I bump release number whenever I introduce a
backward-incompatibility.  The above release
of thinkpad won't work properly with early 2.4 kernels
because the misc_register() call didn't register
devices in the root of the dev filesystem back
then.
