How about a 600? (Re: [ltp] Trying to set up TP560 for debian - SODIMM problem)

Has anyone on the list had trouble adding more than 224-ish megs of memory
to a Thinkpad 600? (this isn't a 600E or a 600X, by the way). I read
it's supposed to support up to 288 MB (with two 128M sodimms?), but adding
two 128M sodimms only appears to give 224M memory - same as I get from my
current configuration with a 64M sodimm and a 128M sodimm.
Will specifying "mem=288M" when booting Linux actually *work*, or will it
doom me to a non-booting machine? :)
(By the way, I also have a 385XD with 96M of memory - all seen by the BIOS
and Linux. Is the 385XD a later machine?)
