Hi this is my first post to the list! Anyhow let me get right on with
my question. I own a IBM T23 2647-9LU (nice machine, but want a T30,
drool). It has integrated wireless--which I got working just fine from
www.linux-wlan.org. I believe, the card within my machine is a Prism II
based card.
I go back and forth from work with my machine, and additionally when I
put it to sleep--I have to restart wireless with the following commands:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/wlan stop
rm /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-wlan0.pid
/etc/rc.d/init.d/wlan start
/sbin/dhcpcd wlan0
Kind of annoying to have to do that all the time--I was wondering if
anyone could recommend a solution for me? I use Redhat 7.3. Also, can
anyone recommend a GUI to see signal strength/configure the wireless
settings on the fly for my setup? Any other advice on getting a better
"grasp" on managing the wireless would be great. Any links would be
cool!
And lastly, I am trying to get "AirSnort" to work (I've also tried a
bunch of other Linux wireless scanners without success.) I cannot "set
monitor mode" and in the terminal window it says "sh: wlanctl-ng:
command not found". Does this have to do with how my $PATH is set?
Thanks a lot for your input!
