Been there, done that, got the T-Shirt. The most impressive result was the 
automatic response system ;-)

I have been battling with IBM, Thinkpads and Linux since the mid-90's - 
there is precioous little that I haven't tried so far.

Ummm, that was a complaint? Sorry if it came across that way - I actually
meant it to show how pleased I am with the (unofficial) IBM Thinkpad
support for Linux.

Ahem - "few"? Actually, at the support personnel level, I have yet to find 
someone *not* knowledgable enough to help me. Maybe it has something to do 
with the fact that in the places I operate in (India and Europe), Linux is 
pretty much mainstream.

IAC, this is the same argument all over again. No point raking that up.
