Nelson - I can confirm that installing and using slmdm 2.7.14 produced the
same errors you have reported. Downgrading to 2.7.9 fixed the problem and
I was able to connect again.

The latest version of slmdm *is* 2.7.14 (download from 
http://www.smlink.com/download/Linux/), but as Nelson as reported (and as 
I can now also confirm) this seems to cause issues (at least on the T30).

It should be noted that Smartlink has never claimed that their driver is 
for anything but their modems ;-) It is entirely possible that they have 
made changes post 2.7.9 that make the modem unusable on the modem found 
in the T series.

For now, I can continue to confirm that version 2.7.9 from 
http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/smartlink/ works perfectly (for 
me).
