Hello,
I've now got my new T40 working fairly well using Linux - unfortunately I
don't have time to write a detailed step-by-step guide, but here are some
notes about my setup:
http://www.w-m-p.com/linux-on-t40.html
I hope that this will be of help for anyone else who also wants to get
Linux running on this model - getting the kernel and X11 running properly
was rather painful :-/
Any help on the remaining unsupported hardware would be very much
appreciated:
- the machine crashes frequently when waking up from resume, and I
couldn't get hibernate to work at all
- the builtin IBM 802.11a/b WiFi card isn't supported AFAIK
Also, I don't really understand the hide-and-seek game the predesktop
partition is playing...
I haven't tried out the modem yet, but that's not a high priority for me.
-Klaus
