Hi Richard and All
Sorry for the name confusion on my part. Each organization appears to have a
different setup.
Yes I now after some exploration believe that it is called LotusSmart Suit.
Seems that when I bought the computer I got a MS version with the computer. I
did have to send in a coupon but that was all.
Anyway I was thinking if the are or were giving away a MS version there there
may be a Linux version.
So far I have not been able to find that on the web site but then IBM teckies
told me about IBM's Linux website years before I was able to access it or
anyway part of it. Seems it was for internal use only.
If there is no SmartSuit Linux version then that is OK as I have discovered
that it has the same issue with the spellchecker not functioning as Open
Office does.
To refresh your memory the initial inquiry was because for some strange reason
some files refuse to spell check indicated all words are to be skipped.
Once a file reaches this stage none of my computers or programs will spell
check it without loss of formating. This has been verified in SO 5.1, Kword.
Open Office 1.1, MS Office XP, MS Word 98, MS Word 2000, and possible a few
more.
You will notice Abbie Word is missing from the list but I do not have Abbie
Word set up correctly; there is some issue with fonts that I have not worked
on yet.
Also this only happens to about 10% of files which are almost always critical
files as they are the ones edited the most.
This issue never creates a problem on initial typing but always surfaces after
a file has been saved and edited several time.
I place a full description of the issue on the Open Office users list without
response so I will not go into it here futher. If some one has interest in
the complete details I will of course gladly send them the details.
Thanks
Frank
