Note this is when I'm doing only light-duty stuff.  (i.e., reading
e-mail locally, using emacs --- not MS-Word, it burns a huge amount of
CPU which means a huge amount of power --- other stuff that doesn't
fire up the disk that often, etc.)  It's quite a different story if
I'm doing kernel compiles.
