Yup, been running SuSE 8.1 on a Thinkpad A31p with a bunch of different g=
uest=20
os's. Key for me was to add the following to my kernel boot parameters:

apic  acpi=3Doff

This works for me, since I don't use/need the functionality that these bo=
ot=20
parameters remove.
