Hi, in case you mean the sidebar that holds the bookmarks/pages/... tabs in the original AcroRead, I don't believe they are supported neither in xpdf nor gpdf. What you want then is AcroRead 5.0 for linux, which you can download from the Adobe web pages. Andre.
