IMHO, I would not advise to have the mwaved driver loaded and started at=
=20
bootup. My own experience with a similar system (TP600, RH 7.2) has=20
taught me not to. I had this setup during a few weeks, and it lead to=20
several crashes. At first, let me mention that, each time the lid was=20
closed, even when offline, the mwave modem was out when I re-opened the =
lid, and I had to restart it. Sometimes, at startup of the TP600, the=20
modem wouldn't start... and then, in such event, the machine got stuck=20
and I could do nothing else than disconnect from power and reboot, then =
have the system go through fsck at next startup, with all the troubles=20
and hazards that you can imagine. I have therefore disabled the load of =
mwaved on startup ; whenever I want to connect to internet, I run 'mwave=
d=20
restart', and everything goes OK. It still happens sometimes that the=20
modem won't start, but then it does not crash the system, and I can try =
again without any problem.
For your information, this comes to you from my TP600 with RH 7.2 and=20
Mwave internal modem.
