[ltp] Resize NTFS Partition?

Are you all using the proprietary "Restore" disks that came with your
system? I ask, because after having built a ton (quite literally thousands)
of NT and Win2k machines, plus what I've learned from the few XP Pro
machines that I've built so far, that this is not the default behavior of
any of these OS's. Unless you are upgrading, installing from a proprietary
"Restore" disk, or performing a network install that includes an answer
file, set up to convert the drive, NT will ask you early on, if you want to
format the drive as FAT, FAT32 (Win2k & XP) or NTFS. If you do a clean
install, using the full version MS disks, you will have these choices. On
most of the machines that I have built, I went NTFS, as that was the
customer's requirement, but I have also built some machines (Win2k and [1]
XP Pro) using FAT32 due to the requirements of users. One consideration to
keep in mind. NT4 will is limited to 2.0GB partitions under FAT, due to
FAT's basic nature. Also, NT, even under the latest Svc Pk (6a) is limited
to a 7.8GB system partition. This is documented in Microsoft's Knowledge
Base. Trust me, it will "blow up", ie BSOD at larger sytem partition sizes.
BTW, what do you refer to as NT 4.0 +? Are you refering to Service Packs 3
and above?
