On the Thinkpads I've used, Fn-F3 toggles hardware blanking. On my
current A30p, sometimes after a suspend the backlight turns on but the
display doesn't show anything, or the display flickers a lot. In these
cases, I find that pressing Fn-F3 twice (to turn off and then turn on
the screen) fixes the problem.
