If you get apt from http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=244 , all you
have to do to get DVD-playing software installed on Red Hat 8.0 is this:
apt-get update (after you first install apt)
apt-get install ogle
(or, apt-get install mplayer)
I'd also recommend this:
apt-get install synaptic
... as it's a nice (if a bit slow) GTK frontend for apt.
