Did you use the kernel's own PCMCIA support or get Card Services
(pcmcia-cs)? It's been my experience that cs is much more robust than
yenta. However, you'll have to compile PCMCIA-CS against the kernel
source to create modules appropriate to the new kernel.
I can definitely understand the allure of rolling your own kernel -
that's one of Linux's great strengths. But I'll also have to repeat
Jon's question - why the 2.4 series?
