[ltp] Newbie --- Thinkpad 600, Redhat 8.0, Sound?

Hi,

I got my first IBM Thinkpad, my first ever RedHat (8.0) distribution, and I set 
up to install it. Everything went pretty smoothly, but I have no sound.

I tried to follow the advice in http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/MIGR-

but the problem is that sndconfig doesn't seem to be in my system (command not 
found).

I have never used Linux before, so any help on how to get this done (installing 
sndconfig, and playing my CDs) would be appreciated.
