I have a T40p and I tried both VESA fb (vga=834) and radeonfb - the
machine won't wakeup from sleep properly.

I've had that problem too, then i turned "APIC" support off. Sleep mode
now works fine in console (default mode) and X. With vga=834 the machine
hangs when waking up.
