Hey there,
after trying acpi, apm with both 2.4.21 and 2.6-test1 and 2 I still
worry about my CPU temp...
When booting the 2.4.21 acpi enabled kernel and run the acpi command it
returns values higher than 60°C (140°F), I found this very high for no
reason as I was not doing something CPU consuming ...
The CPU is a P4M 1.9 and even my athlon 1800+ never goes this far...
So I would have like to test CPU temp with lm_sensors but it seems that
some thinkpad have very bad reactions to i2c drivers, could someone help
me with this CPU temp problem?
Is there anway to know CPU temp other than using ACPI thermal options or
lm_sensors?
thanks, Jerome

Everybody but Sam had signed up for a new company pension plan that
called for a small employee contribution. The company was paying all
the rest.  Unfortunately, 100% employee participation was needed;
otherwise the plan was off. Sam's boss and his fellow workers pleaded
and cajoled, but to no avail. Sam said the plan would never pay off.
Finally the company president called Sam into his office.
"Sam," he said, "here's a copy of the new pension plan and here's
a pen. I want you to sign the papers. I'm sorry, but if you don't sign,
you're fired. As of right now."
	Sam signed the papers immediately.
"Now," said the president, "would you mind telling me why you
couldn't have signed earlier?"
"Well, sir," replied Sam, "nobody explained it to me quite so
clearly before."
