I started with Slackware 8... I have downloaded a bunch of new stuff since
then...
(I installed Base + Netowrking - Then Added X-Windows and everything Else
I'm using)
I downloaded the 2.4.20 Kernel source and tried that... It is something odd
with either my Linux or My Laptop... Not sure... I have been thinking about
Ghosting it and then Installing Slackware 9, seeing if that works, if so -
Copy all Configs (see what makes it tick) and then go back to mine....
Why Slackware? 2.1Gb HD, CDDrive no bootable and it swaps with the floppy
drives... I created a 300Mb DOS partition so I could install slackware...
(At the time I didn't have a network card either... Now I 'should' be able
to use PCMCIA and a NIC across a network - If it works =)
(btw... the PCMCIA when first loading the yenta_socket gives me a no IRQs
found error.... (AKA, IRQ=0) so nothing works =(

Adam and all:
I have used PCMCIA devices, such as an IBM Home and Away card without
problems from either a warm or cold boot. Which distro are you using (I'm
on RH 8.0 with the 2.4.20-18.8 kernel straight out of the box). I do have
to use network manager to set up eth0 to work with the card, but a read
through dmesg and I found the device type and fixed it right up.
