Here is my hdparm /dev/hda:

/dev/hda:
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  0 (off)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    =  8 (on)
 geometry     = 4764/240/63, sectors = 72037362, start = 0

I tried turning the unmaskirq on ... hard to tell if it helps ;).  Two 
questions though.  IO_support is off on my system, what is it and how do I 
turn it on?

Also, do these parameter changes survive a reboot?
